001 The Living Experiment

We launched Conscious Soup by inviting everyone we knew into a Living Experiment. We didn’t know what it meant, neither did they and that was kinda the point. We wanted to experiment with how much social capital we had, essentially asking two questions:

1. how much trust have we had garnered from folks over the years?

2. will people follow us into something totally blind?

59 people registered interest.

Sam spent half a day sending this permission slip out all over the world, from Sydney to Colorado (which never made it and got returned to sender a month after the experiment finished).

Out of the 59 we sent, 42 signed up to the experiment and 30 were fully engaged for the whole month.

We created this newspaper at the conclusion of the experiment and sent it to the participants with a QR code for them to close out the experiment as their permission slip stated:

‘I will pay what I wish, nothing more, nothing less.’

So far, we’ve received £600 (and counting).
